As expected, Chunky Fringe is now taking over most of my non-salaried work time. It no longer forms part of Digitiser Live, in terms of being a ticketed event, but the performers and exhibitors who have volunteered their time deserve an effort to make something worth paying to watch.
The biggest challenge is making some animations. Having been meticulously designing in kilobytes, it feels strange to be haphazardly generating hundreds of megabytes until something looks right. Still, not as strange as the reason for digging out my ancient computer graphics degree in the first place, which was to satisfy some construction site safety certification scheme. Qualifying would have been easier if I'd studied anthropology instead.By way of minor compensation for the lack of video game content this time, and almost certainly next time, readers may now apply to share their worst hardware or software purchasing decisions on the small stage at Chunky Fringe.
